Holdin' On Summer Tour!

Hey mates! We are aware that there has been not much activity in our blog the lasts weeks, our works have required the best of us, but don’t worry, we have returned hopefully and with a lot of energy!

These lasts weeks we have organized a little bit the events of this summer, and we want to announce that we are going to attend the best festivals of this season, and of course, we will bring reviews, opinions, infos, etc. of the best experiences of every event.

First of all, this week is the Sónar week and we are so excited for attending Sónar 2014. Because we are plenty of illusion for seeing the performances of great artists that will be difficult of seeing another time, like the performance of Plastikman presenting the EX album, or the opening of the tour of Massive Attack.

In addition, talking about more spanish festivals, we will be in the desert the 19th of July for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the biggest rave of the world, Monegros Desert Festival, and we will be in the Burriana beach from 29th of July to the 3rd of August for covering all the Arenal Sound.

And finally, we are so excited for announcing that the team of Holdin’ On The Music will take part of the 10th anniversary of one of the best summer festivals of the world, Tomorrowland (Belgium). We will be there the first weekend, from 18th to 20th of July, for giving you the best infos and the best moments of the festivals.

This week start a hard summer for our team. We hope you walk with us along next months!

Compañeros, somos conscientes que llevamos varias semanas con muy poca actividad en nuestro blog por causas ajenas a Holdin’ On The Music, pero no os preocupéis porque ya estamos de vuelta, y lo hacemos a lo grande!

Estas semanas también nos han permitido organizarnos un poco mejor este verano, y por eso os queremos anunciar que asistiremos a los mejores festivales de esta época estival para traeros de primera mano nuestras experiencias y las reviews de los mejores momentos de cada evento!

Para empezar, esta semana tenemos unas ganas enormes de Sónar 2014, y es que nos ilusiona especialmente poder ver grandes artistas que difícilmente podremos volver a ver por nuestras tierras, como la actuación y regreso en primicia de Plastikman con un nuevo trabajo EX bajo el brazo, o el inicio de gira de Massive Attack.

Y ya os podemos anticipar que estaremos en el 20 aniversario de Monegros Desert Festival, la gran rave del desierto, y en la playa de Burriana en Valencia, para cubrir el Arenal Sound al completo!

Y para acabar, y por si no habéis tenido suficiente, nos complace anunciar que el equipo de Holdin’ On The Music se desplazará hasta Bélgica para traeros lo mejor de Tomorrowland  a vuestras pantallas!

Comienza un verano muy duro para nosotros, y esperamos que nos acompañéis a lo largo de todos estos meses!

Companys, som conscients que fa un temps que tenim força poca activitat en aquest blog per causes externes a Holdin' On The Music, però no patiu més perquè ja estem aquí de nou, i us portem grans notícies!

Aquestes setmanes d'absència també ens han permès organitzar-nos aquest estiu, i per això us volem anunciar que assistirem als millors festivals de l'època estival per portar-vos de primera mà les nostres experiències i els millors moments de cada esdeveniment!

Per començar, aquesta setmana tenim unes ganes boges de Sónar 2014, i és que ens il·lusiona moltíssim poder veure artistes que difícilment podrem tornar a veure per aquestes terres, com per exemple l'actuació i tornada a l'escena en primícia de Plastikman amb el seu nou treball EX, o l'inici de la gira dels Massive Attack.

I també us podem anticipar que assistirem al 20è aniversari de Monegros Desert Festival, la gran rave del desert no se'ns podia escapar! I també hi serem a la platja de Burriana per cobrir l'Arenal Sound al complet!

Ja per anar acabant, i per si no n'heu tingut prou, ens complau moltissim poder-vos anunciar que l'equip de Holdin' On The Music viatjarà fins a Bèlgica per portar-vos tota la informació de Tomorrowland  a casa vostra!

Està a punt de començar un estiu molt dur per nosaltres, i esperem, que ens pugueu acompanyar al llarg de tots aquests mesos!

Skrillex Takeovers Barcelona

When we talk about dubstep, we think about Skrillex. This link is immediate and any effort is needed by our brain. It is true that a lot of people have tried to include his music on the most commercial sector inside the underground scene of the dubstep of this decade, but it is also true that most of us have jumped, danced and shouted with his drops, his most famous rhythms and with his performances.

At the age of 26, Sonny Moore has created a new esthetic and has turned into as a mass phenomenon in all places where he has gone, being the reason his high activity in the social networks as well as he has taken advantage of the possibility of remixing a lot of tracks of great bands or djs like Birdy Nam Nam, Chase & Status, his new projects with Boys Noize or Diplo, or recently, producing new tracks for rap formations.

In his last performances, we have listened new productions, and sometimes, productions that are a little bit different from the original sounds, like the last collaboration with Ellie Goulding in Because, and we have to get accustomed to this things because the young producer has to learn new styles, new techniques, new shows, new knowledge, and we are sure that these changes will be executed in the next performances.

After this introductions, we want to talk about the next performances, from wednesday 26th to the saturday 1st, Skrillex will do an small marathon of 4 performance in 4 different discos/clubs of Barcelona. This marathon has been promoted by Sónar, which is the festival that has brought Skrillex for first time to Barcelona during the last 20th edition. It is important to mention that the number of tickets is so small and it will be difficult to find some of them.

The first performance is going to be the 26th in Moog room, then he will act into Razzmatazz the 27th, the 28th in BeCool, and finally, this mini tour will be finished the 1st of March in the KER Club, one of the most important clubs of the city at the moment with the wide styles range of performances and with a lot of international artists.

****************************************************************************************************************Cuando se habla de dubstep, se piensa en Skrillex. La asociación es casi inmediata y no supone ningún tipo de esfuerzo para nuestro cerebro. Y es que, por mucho que se le haya tachado de “demasiado comercial” entre la escena underground del dub a principio de década, debemos reconocer que todos nos hemos partido el cuello más de una vez con sus alucinantes drops y sus ritmos de lo más reconocibles.

Con apenas 26 años, Sonny Moore ha creado una “nueva” estética y se ha proclamado fenómeno de masas allá donde sea que actúe, y todo ello gracias a una actividad imparable en las redes sociales y a la oportunidad (muy bien aprovechada, por cierto) de remezclar a grandes como Birdy Nam Nam y Chase & Status, colaborar con Boys Noize o Diplo en nuevos proyectos, y, recientemente producir diversos temas de rap.

En sus recientes sesiones se han podido escuchar temas completamente nuevos y algo distintos a su repertorio original, canciones como la última colaboración con Ellie Goulding en Because, y es que debemos acostumbrarnos a que el joven artista experimente y aprenda de todas sus colaboraciones, empapándose de estilos muy distintos y de conocimientos que seguro pondrá en práctica en sus próximas actuaciones.

Y de sus próximas actuaciones queríamos hablar, y es que a partir del miércoles 26 de febrero, Skrillex se marcará un pequeño maratón de cuatro noches en cuatro salas distintas de la ciudad condal. Eventos promovidos por Sónar, que fueron los que ya le abrieron las puertas a Barcelona colocándolo como cabeza de cartel en el 20 aniversario del festival el pasado 2013, y de los cuales ya quedan muy pocas entradas disponibles.

Empezando el miércoles 26 en la sala Moog, le siguen las actuaciones del jueves 27 en Razzmatazz, el viernes 28 en BeCool, y cerrando esta "mini gira" en KER Club el sábado 1 de marzo, probablemente la sala más de moda del momento en Barcelona, con mayor variedad musical, y un altísimo nivel de artistas internacionales que hacen las delicias de los más apasionados de la escena electrónica actual.

Así que si todavía encontrais alguna entrada, no perdáis la oportunidad de ver a este gran Dj, que en su tiempo fue revelación, y ahora ha conseguido consolidarse como uno de los referentes en el panorama internacional.

Quan parlem de dubstep, pensem en Skrillex. La associació és gairebé immediata i no suposa cap tipus d’esforç per al nostre cervell. I és que, per molt que se l’hagi intentat col·locar en un dels sectors “massa comercials” dins de l’escena underground del dub de principis de dècada, hem de reconèixer que tos ens hem partit el coll més d’una vegada amb els seus drops d’infart i els seus ritmes més reconeixibles.

Amb gairebé 26 anys, Sonny Moore ha creat una “nova” estètica i s’ha proclamat com a fenomen de masses allà on actua, i tot això gràcies a una activitat frenètica a les xarxes socials i a l’oportunitat (molt ben aprofitada, tot s’ha de dir) de poder realitzar remescles de grans grups com Birdy Nam Nam i Chase & Status, col·laborar amb Boys Noize o Diplo en nous projectes i, recentment, produir diversos temes de rap.

En les seves actuacions més recents, hem pogut escoltar produccions completament noves, i en alguna ocasió, una mica diferents al que ens té acostumats del seu repertori original, cançons com la seva última col·laboració amb  Ellie Goulding a Because, i és que, a poc a poc, ens hem d’anar habituant a què el jove artista experimenti i aprengui de totes les seves col·laboracions, aprengui d’estils molt diferents i de coneixements que segur que podrem veure com els executa en les seves properes actuacions.

I de les seves properes actuacions us volíem parlar, i és que a partir del dimecres 26 de febrer, Skrillex farà una petita marató de quatre nits a diferents sales de la ciutat comtal. Aquests esdeveniments estan promoguts pel Sónar, que va ser el festival que li va obrir les portes a Barcelona col·locant-lo com a un dels caps de cartell de la seva 20ª edició el passat 2013, i us recordem que queden molt poques entrades disponibles.

Començant pel dimecres 26 a la sala Moog, segueixen les actuacions del dijous 27 a la sala Razzmatazz, el divendres 28 al BeCool, i per acabar de tancar aquesta "mini gira" el podrem veure el dissabte 1 de març al KER Club, probablement la sala més de moda del moment a Barcelona, amb una varietat molt amplia d’estils musicals i un altíssim nivell d’artistes internacionals, que tot junt fa les delícies dels més apassionats de l’escena electrònica actual.

Així que si encara trobeu alguna entrada, no perdeu l’oportunitat de veure a aquest gran Dj, que en el seu temps va ser una revelació, i que ja ha aconseguit consolidar-se com un dels referents del dub en el panorama internacional.
